Requested operation require elevation

When I try to release IPConfig by using ipconfig/release I receive this
message: The requested operation require elevation. How can I resolve this
issue and what is elevation? I am using Windows Vista Ultimate.

Open your command prompt window as an administrator (right click on the
icon and select the run as administrator option) would be my guess.

RE: Requested operation require elevation

Right click cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator

Click on the Start Orb and type "cmd" without the quotes into the Search
box. Now right-click on the result and choose "run elevated". The exact
terminology may be different; I'm not on Vista right now.

You will then be able to do ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew. Note
that there is a space between "ipconfig" and "/release".

For more information about running elevated, type that term into Help.
