| Downgrading to XP from Vista A friend of mine bought a Toshiba laptop with Vista pre-installed. So now his HP printer will never work with Vista and after other problems, I've come to the conclusion that downgrading to XP might be the best option. However I don't think Toshiba have XP drivers for that particular model of laptop - is this going to be a problem? He has a non-OEM version of XP and an OEM version of XP for a slightly older Toshiba laptop Any suggestions? thanks |

| Re: Downgrading to XP from Vista If Toshiba doesn't have XP drivers, downgrading will be a challenge. So the answer is yes, that is going to be a problem. Tell your friend to be sure to have Vista recovery DVDs before he commences to be resourceful and determined to downgrade to XP. | Re: Downgrading to XP from Vista Without knowing what "other problems" there might be, it seems like addressing the printer issue may be easier/better than doing a downgrade to XP. What model printer is it and what sorts of problems is he having? Depending on his needs, a new printer may be cheaper than XP.
