Media Center

If I play a sound file ( mp3 or wave ) and select repeat, after a few
minutes the sound becomes choppy or has a lot of static.

More than likely the sound card drivers. Sound Blaster Audigy suffers
from that problem. I'm sure others are having similar issues.

The problem turned out to be the screen saver turning on allthough there was
no sound associated with the screen sacer.
