Yeah getting IM'd can be annoying, however I love having messanger when I
need to be productive and collaborate. When I dont wanna IM I just ignore
it, ppl get the idea after a while. My mesanger is always up and runnning.

Very true. Some of us tend to indulge ourselves with the entertainment
value the trolls offer while debunking all they say.

Yet, at the same time, trying to get to the bottom of a problem (sometimes
:)

So far we have two facts that can't be ignored.

1. Messenger Live is apart of the problem.
2. Security is at fault.

The only piece of info we do not have which just might shed some light is
whether or not the people having this issue performed an OS Upgrade.

I loaded Vista in a VM (already have a fresh install waiting) and installed
Messenger Live then performed a :) It asked to install Flash and I did. No
problems. I can not reproduce this in VM.

That does not claim everyone with the problem is a liar (this is where the
trolls fail). It shows that those exact steps do not produce the problem.
I don't have time to install XP in a VM and upgrade from there. Anyone else
want to try?

Worked for me too, as above, but that is not the scenario I've seen
raised as a problem. The problem scenario is where the download is
initiated by MS Messenger, and pulls down an old version of Flash that
doesn't work with Vista, and may be hard to clean up.
