Thank you for your tip it got rid finally of the blank page by
uninstalling Majestic, but it still will only let me have a solid color
for a desktop background. I just want to use one of windows
backgrounds.
Do you have any clues about this?

Right-click Desktop
Select Personalize
Select Desktop Background
Click on text right of "Location" to bring up a list or Browse... button

You should be able to take it from there.

I finally got rid of the blank page. Now I can only get a solid color
desktop background. Any clues?
