| Re: Network Vista With xp Hello, On the computer running Windows XP, check the workgroup name and then compare it to the workgroup name on the computers running Windows Vista. If the workgroup names don't match, change the names so that all of the computers on the network have the same workgroup name. You can find more information about this and other troubleshooting tips for computers not showing up on your home network in this article: "Troubleshoot problems finding computers on a home network" http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/5723d061-b884-40da-b5e7-94a55f6fcead1033.mspx#ENG Charlene -- Charlene Shepard Windows User Assistance Team Microsoft Corporation "NaDaGa" <NaDaGa@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4528E4C8-F077-45D8-85AF-B6E38D6E9A45@microsoft.com... > > yes..iknow i can see it in the map but i can not access the other pc with > xp > nor can i see the vista pv on the xp machine > "Paul Smith" wrote: > >> This enables Windows XP to position itself on the network map feature of >> Windows Vista, it isn't needed to actually network the machines. >> >> -- >> Paul Smith, >> Yeovil, UK. >> Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User. >> http://www.windowsresource.net/ >> >> *Remove nospam. to reply by e-mail* >> >> >> "MIKE" <MIKE@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:87726D60-BDC9-4518-A8B7-FD55FED0E075@microsoft.com... >> > hello every one >> >> > >> > YOU must download an update to your xp computer: >> > >> > http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4f01a31d-ee46-481e-ba11-37f485fa34ea&DisplayLang=en >> > >> > then restart the both computers ..
