How to activate the 'Snip' tool?

The only way I've found to activate the snip tool is with the link on the
Windows Help and Support page. Obviously, there must be a better way. Don't
see it anywhere. Thanks for your help - IM

Re: How to activate the 'Snip' tool?

I sent a shortcut to my desktop and then dragged it to my Quick Launch area.

Re: How to activate the 'Snip' tool?

Click All Programs - Accessories - Snipping Tool. Also, you may Pin it to the Start menu by right-clicking and choosing the "Pin to Start Menu" option.

Re: How to activate the 'Snip' tool?

Check in (c):\Windows\System32 for SnippingTool.exe--drag it somewhere to
make a shortcut.
If it's not in Windows/System32, you may find it in
Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-tabletpc-snippingtool_31bf...............
You may need to unhide system files/folders in Explorer to see either.

Re: How to activate the 'Snip' tool?

Make a shortcut on your desktop, or add it to your start menu. The actual
file location is here: %SystemRoot%\system32\SnippingTool.exe

Re: How to activate the 'Snip' tool?

Imageman,

Click Start, type "snippingtool" in the Search box, and press ENTER. Does it work? The file SnippingTool.exe is located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder.

With snipping tool open, go to options then ensure there is a tick in
quicklaunch option. This will place a shortcut in the quicklaunch toolbar.

worked. I have Vista Ultimate by the way. Don't know why the tool wasn't in
accessories - IM

Re: How to activate the 'Snip' tool?

It's included but not necessarily installed.

It is located under Tablet PC -- in XP you got to Windows Components in
Add/Remove Programs but in VISTA I've forgotten where I had to go to
get it.

For some reason with my installation of snipping tool I can save a
capture to a file but it won't go into the clipboard to copy/paste.

Create a shorcut with this command:

C:\Windows\System32\SnippingTool.exe
