| RE: Snip Tool is Missing Oh no! Someone snipped your snipping tool! I hate when that happens! ;-) Seriously, I guess it's possible that the snipping tool wasn't installed on your system. Look under the Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features | Turn Windows Features On or Off. (You'll have to go through a UAC prompt at this point -- if you're one of the sane people who hasn't turned it off.) Check to see if "Tablet PC Options" is checked. I believe the snipping tool is part of that group of features. "Bobmitmen" wrote: > I have read how to run "Snip" tool Went to Run and typed Snip and nothing > comes up. | Re: Snip Tool is Missing Try this: 1. Click the Start button. 2. Type snip 3. Click Snipping Tool. | RE: Snip Tool is Missing After re-reading your post I'm thinking the other guys are right. I'm not sure you've actually determined that the Snipping Tool isn't already installed. You wouldn't find it with a file search if your system was not set to search system areas. Did you look in the appropriate place in the Start menu and / or try typing "snip" in the search location on the Start menu? Start | Run is for issuing the actual executable name. And, on top of that, the executable being called must be in the path (or the path must be specified). But if the Snipping Tool actually isn't installed, then my post may be helpful. Please let us know how it goes. "Bobmitmen" wrote: > I have read how to run "Snip" tool Went to Run and typed Snip and nothing > comes up. | Re: Snip Tool is Missing The executable is at %SystemRoot%\system32\SnippingTool.exe. So if you use Run you have to type SnippingTool.exe rather than Snip. | Re: Snip Tool is Missing Peter.... You hit it! Enabled the Tablet options and now it works... | Re: Snip Tool is Missing If you have Tablet Features disabled, which many "speed up Vista" guides recommends doing, it removes Snipping Tool. Tablet Features does not have a drop down, so you cannot just take Snipping Tool, which is kind of silly. -- EganFilm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ EganFilm's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=41134 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=705361 http://forums.techarena.in |

| Re: Snip Tool is Missing I have a similar problem. The snip tool is missing, is not found when searched for, and the "Tablet Optional Features" option on the program and features part is also not there.
