Hi. I am a system admin for several non-profits that are starting to change
to Vista. So far everyhting is working with a few adjustments. The only
problem is in a database management program developed with VBA. It doen's
work on the new computer. Our program developer said:

"Bad news folks -- It looks like several VBA components are NOT compatible
with Vista. I don't have a Vista workstation, and I have no way of tracing
the problem down. We won't be headed there for another year, when that OS is
stable and clients are ready to move to it."

Do you have any suggestions for us? What is your experience with VBA
programs and Vista? What areas in the VBA programming should we focus on that
could be not compatible?

We are using Vista Business.
Any help greatly appreciated

When you say VBA (i.e. Visual Basic for Applications), what "host" app are
we talking about...? Excel, Word, Access etc...?

I haven't come across any specific issues with VBA in Access...

However, if I'd said anything like that to one of my clients, I'd fully
expect them to tell me to get stuffed and to go elsewhere... As a
long-standing IT contractor, I've found that you don't tend to keep many
clients by not being ahead of the game or, at the very least, up with it...

Several further questions, therefore:

1) What sort of database app is it...?

2) Why doesn't your program developer have a Vista workstation...?

3) Are you so locked in with this amateur that you can't go somewhere
else...?

4) Do you own / have full access to the source code...? If not, why not...?
