| Can not turn aero back on I had a program that would not work with aero enabled. Windows said it would turn aero off until I was done with the program. Now Aero will not turn back on. When selected it acts like it is turning on but every time I go back to the settings it is back to windows basic. I can no longer find the transpancy button either. Any body have a solution for this? |

| Re: Can not turn aero back on Try this: Ensure that you have the following registry values set to : HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\Composition set to 1 (32-bit DWORD) HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\CompositionPolicy set to 2 (32-bit DWORD) 2/ Restart DWM by opening a command prompt with administrative privileges: - Type 'net stop uxsms' - Then 'net start uxsms' Good luck, Lang "Gene85" <Gene85@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EEAAF777-7AA0-40FE-82EF-DDE2F35C3B83@microsoft.com...[color=blue] >I had a program that would not work with aero enabled. | Re: Can not turn aero back on Hey Lang I have the same problem and tried your suggestion. I checked the registry and all is good there. I go to cmd an typ in 'net stop uxsms' but get: System error 5 has accurred. Access is denied. Any clues? I am the admistrator so i'm sure it's not a permissions problem. Thanks Mikey |
