Installing Vista From the HD

Up to now , I always installed my OSs ( Including XP ) from
the HD . It avoids the messages to insert the install CD.
Is vista installable form the HD ??( provided that I copy the
DVD content to a dir ? )

RE: Installing Vista From the HD

Vista is an image based install unlike XP. You need to install from the the
dvd.

I did have problems with an Beta Vista installing from the DVDdrive
and copied it to the HD and installed from it, with success. But
it was a beta.

Re: Installing Vista From the HD

Vista can be installed from the HD, just copy the whole DVD to a folder. You
can't boot from it though, you'd need to start installation from another OS.
