| Integrating English Speech recognition? Hello everyone, I'd like to know if its possible to have a English version of Speech Recognition in the Dutch version of Windows Vista Business edition. By either way downloading/installing/upgrading or adding it to Windows Vista or am I obligated to totally reinstall Windows Vista in English version? Thanks in advance, Pim |

| Re: Integrating English Speech recognition? Ooh! This sounds really kewl! How does this work? I would like to be able to have a means of translating what I write into Arabic, Japanese, and Spanish automatically as well as the reverse (those languages into English) since I deal so much with these three languages. Being the grampa that I am in and so out of touch with modern technology, I would like to know if we have this technology yet and if that is what you are talking about. If so, wow! A dream come true! Especially for a man who enjoys his second childhood as much as I am. :) "Pim" <Pim@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:553226F7-2BBE-435F-8AD9-D86C0C006740@microsoft.com...[color=blue] > Hello everyone, > > I'd like to know if its possible to have a English version of Speech > Recognition in the Dutch version of Windows Vista Business edition. | Re: Integrating English Speech recognition? No sorry that was not what I meant, I meant if I could use a English version of the Speech recognition program in my current language of Windows Vista. Because the Dutch version of Windows Vista doesnt come with a Speech recognition and the English one does, so the question is if theres a standallone kinda like version of the English Speech recognition wich I can use in the Dutch version of Windows Vista. | Re: Integrating English Speech recognition? On Vista Ultimate and Enterprise you can install a lang-pack which allows you to switch the UI language to English and then use English Speech Recognition {requires a log-off and log-on}. But generally the Speech Recognition in Vista has to match the language of the UI - otherwise all the speakable menu options, start menu etc. would be in Dutch but the recognizer would be listening for English and it would get a bit strange.
