| Shutdown / Sleep fail I have Vista Ultimate with an ASUS P5BPlus Vista MB with the associated ASUS utilities, incl AI Nap and AI remote. When I use the "start" button menu to sleep Vista it seems to enter sleep then immediately reawaken, a similar thing happens if I shut down via that menu. I can however enter AI nap using the ASUS remote and shut down using the AI remote button. The power off switch causes the same problem as the "start" button menu. Is there an issue with Vista Ultimate shutdown functions generally? or is the interaction with the ASUS utilities problematic (they claim to be Vista compatable). Thanks in advance for any help. | Re: Shutdown / Sleep fail No joy. I tried updating anything that looked like an ACPI driver but the update said all were the best/latest available. -- "Ekaulia" wrote: [color=blue] > I have the same problem , vista ultimate with asus motherboard, > Already any solution available? > > "John Feil" <JohnFeil@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:32FE9BF4-A211-485B-8842-63C04D2C7D02@microsoft.com...[color=green] > >I have Vista Ultimate with an ASUS P5BPlus Vista MB with the associated > >ASUS > > utilities, incl AI Nap and AI remote. > > > > When I use the "start" button menu to sleep Vista it seems to enter sleep > > then immediately reawaken, a similar thing happens if I shut down via that > > menu. | Re: Shutdown / Sleep fail Same here, installing latest ACPI driver doesn't work either. It seems a lot of people experience this annoying problem, hoping Microsoft already work to fix this. I worry turning off pc without proper shutdown will break my HD and losing my data.
