IOW, a crack that works. What will be funny is when people buy Vista and
are told they don't have a genuine copy because the product key has been

You're the one saying it's big news, not me. It's old news that Windows
is like a sieve and can be cracked and compromised from here to Sunday.
It *will* be big news to the hapless paying customer who happens to have
a Product Key that is already being used by a cracker.

1. This is old news.
2. I doubt that will happen. You can keygen XP and it wont authenticate. If
you keygen vista it wont authenticate. So if you enjoy your Vista in it's
"out of the box" state then knock yourself out! Or wait for cracked
patches.

A much better routine has been released earlier today. PARADOX a well known
group has created a "software" solution to the BIOS work around.

For the BIOS work around, search for "Gook Cracks Vista Protection !" in
this NG.

I apologize for having to repeat such language.

Instead of messing with your BIOS you now have a simple software solution
for the same procedure.

It would seem a very viable workaround has been found.

turn off updates and not install new hardware:(

I don't know how old this thread is (it came to my attention when somebody
responded to this instead of another thread).
But here's what I don't understand: If someone can activate Vista without
buying it, why is that important to anyone other than MS and law
enforcement? Is the point being that you're not going to buy Vista because
someone else can steal it?
That would be like saying you won't buy groceries because there are
successful shoplifters.

I have Vista Home basic key but when I'm installing Vista and then
activating afer restar it gives me some blue screen and restarts and no
windows is working plz help me with this !
