| windows photo gallery I imported 17,000 pictures from my D drive to Windows photo gallery without knowing what I'm doing and now and I know they didn't go on my C drive and that they are still on the D drive but how do I get them off of Windows Photo Gallery and I sure don't want to delete them from my D drive? |

| Re: windows photo gallery Very carefully. First, leave them in Photo Gallery, close Photo Gallery, and don't worry about it. Then move them from your D: drive to the Picture folder in your user account (or wherever). Then open Photo Gallery and see what's up. I didn't try it so I'm not sure what'll happen. But don't delete anything from Photo Gallery until you see what's going on and know what you're doing. Photo Gallery is simply a viewer, it doesn't do anything to your files. If you can remmeber some file name, or part of any of them you can probably locate where they all are with Vista's Search from the start menu. Another way is go to Windows Explorer, then walk down the tree, expanding the sub folders as you go. Brute force method, but sooner or later you'll find what you're looking for. Example: From Windows Explorer, click on Computer, then your D drive, then explorer the folders there in by clicking on the little arrow and expands the root folder. |

| Re: windows photo gallery WPG doesn't move any files. It just displays photos and videos that are in your Pictures directory, and any other folder you tell it to look in. The files stay where they were. In WPG, if you hover your mouse pointer over a directory in the left pane, it will show you the path. If you want to remove that directory from WPG, right-click on the folder and select Remove From Gallery (DO NOT select Delete).
