System Mechanic

I have Vista Business 64bit - full version not an upgrade.

Iolo have brought out a new version of SystemMechanic for Vista.

I can download it - but the installation process then checks for
updates - and just hangs. I can use the rest of the machine but
cannot get rid of the installer without rebooting.

Has anyone successfully installed it?

Re: System Mechanic

Hi,

Have you brought this issue up with Iola yet?
Are you running setup as administrator?

No - I will do - but I thought I'd ask if anyone else had issues.

Yes.

Re: System Mechanic

Mike,

System Mechanic does not work with x 64 bit vista full stop...............It
doesn't even work with the 32 bit version (even though it says that it does)
Iolo have ripped of thousands of people making them believe that thier
product works with Vista when in fact it doesn't.

Go here to read the problems associated with Iolo products and Vista
http://www.techguy.org/

Type in system Mechanic

Read the article from the Lawyer and her pursuit to stop people being ripped
off by Iolo.

Don't even bother hounding Iolo for an answer or your money back....... You
wont get it. They don't answer e mails, they send out auto replies generated
from a database of stock answers. Phone support is nil, the line is always
locked in a never ending loop of callers waiting in a queue. So don't bother
holding on for an answer because it will end up giving you a bigger bill and
headache to boot.

If you get any answers from them please post the outcome

Cheers!
