| Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck There isn't a whole lot you can do if you can't delete it. You can try using my WMUtil program to compact and repair the database and see if that helps. | Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck You can close WinMail and then move the entire contents of the message store directory to another directory and that will start it up fresh. You can then drag the eml files (messages) back into the WinMail folders. Microsoft is unlikely to fix any bugs in WinMail anytime soon, as it has a very low priority. So workarounds and 3rd party programs are going to be required, just as they were with OE. steve "One-eyed Willie" <OneeyedWillie@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2BD86271-9175-4F0E-AD30-1F3CCEAA47AC@microsoft.com... >I am very annoyed with this bug, but I don't know how to report it either. >I > had messages I thought I sent but they get stuck also, however I can send > or > delete them manally. | Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck Not in WM, but using other email programs, I've had email stuck on the server, which prevented me from downloading any messages. In those cases, I've been able to log into my mail via the web access my ISP provides, or by using a free email site, like http://www.e-mailanywhere.com/ and delete the offending email (usually spam). | Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck You didn't specify, but I assume the stuck message is in the Windows Mail program. Until such time as someone can fix it for you, why don't you read your mail via the web? Just about all ISPs have web mail access now. Close Windows Mail. Navigate to that folder via Windows Explorer. Drill down thru the subfolders to find the Outbox folder. Delete everything in there or move it elsewhere. Now restart Windows Mail and see if things are working correctly. |

Microsoft tools cannot repir it. The only way i know to repair it is exporting all email from the store and removing this file and it's backup copy from Backup folder, or maybe the whole Windows Mail folder. -- Michal Kawecki [Windows - Shell/User MVP] Warsaw, PL |

| Re: Vista mail outbox message stuck I think you do not have to get rid of any files except the two ..smessagestore files. The one under the Windows Mail directory and the one under the Windows Mail\backup\new directory. I'll do some more tests. steve "Michal Kawecki" <kkwinto@o2.pl> wrote in message news:e9tbBsMWHHA.4076@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > "DGuess" <majik@mindspring.oops> wrote in message > news:B9C69450-0BF0-4F78-B36F-A2346B55924E@microsoft.com... >> "Grandma" <Grandma@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:BFF002C2-F834-4556-9420-001015B2324C@microsoft.com... >>>I am totally FRUSTRATED -- I have one email STUCK and the error >>>message--can >>> not receive any further incoming email.
