*Where* did you download from?

I did not have that problem at all.

Go here[1] and click on the big "get it free" button.

I could add http://gaim.sf.net to that list as well.

But personally I still prefer "the real thing" within Windows. You get
more features with the individual programs.

small window pops up and says "A problem caused the prgram to stop working
correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available." :S now what should i do?

Re: MSN messenger instant messaging

When you go to the MSN website only the Windows Live Messenger 8.1 can be
downloaded, you can't choose which one you want, not that I know of. I also
had trouble using my MSN as windows would always close it down and no one
could seem to help me out with it, but I only found out today that it was
Java that was stopping it from working, so I uninstalled Java and now MSN
works GREAT!!! Maybe Java needs to fix something there end. Hope this helps!!!

Re: MSN messenger instant messaging

Hey Jimmy, I've been messing around with my computer again and I think I have
found the solution to the problem. First you should re-install Java which you
can get off the net, then go to www.Imzers.com they have set up a website for
those having trouble with MSN. I had Windows Live Messenger 8.1 which i had
trouble logging on too with Vista, so I when to Imzers.com and downloaded
Windows Live Messenger 8.0 and now its working fine even with Java. It even
tells you about the different Error codes and what they mean. Give it a go.
Let me know how you went. All the best bro!
