| Help upgrade question I have Vista RC1 running on my computer an am fed up waiting for my Vista upgrade from Dell. I want to purchase a full copy of Vista Ultimate tomorrow. Does anyone know if the retail vesion can do an in place upgrade or will I have to do a clean install? |

| Re: Help upgrade question Hi, The retail disk does an upgrade just fine. If you purchase an upgrade disk, know that it will only work on WinXP or 2000, not RC1 or any other prerelease version. To directly upgrade a prerelease version (RC1 or 2) you have to use a full version. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "indefatigable" <indefatigable@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:645806F5-152F-41D7-B9EA-C3BBCDF79D04@microsoft.com... >I have Vista RC1 running on my computer an am fed up waiting for my Vista > upgrade from Dell.
