| How to remove virtual keyboard from Welcome Screen? I recently upgraded the drivers for my Wacom Graphire Digital tablet, but now I am stuck with the Welcome Screen showing a virtual keyboard for which I haven't been able to remove, since I don't have the need to use it. Does anybody know how to remove it because I don't want it showing everytime I login.. Thanks in advance |

| Re: How to remove virtual keyboard from Welcome Screen? I have the same issue (installed Wacom tablet under Vista and got on-screen keyboard at logon). I can't find anything in Help and Support, Ease of Access center, or the on-screen keyboard options. Any other ideas? Did OP find a resolution? |

| Re: How to remove virtual keyboard from Welcome Screen? Thanks for posting a response. Well it seems that it was not a Windows Vista issue after all (well kinda), the updated drivers for the Wacom Tablet apparently activate the Tablet PC features incorporated in Vista, therefore removing the software update for the tablet removes the keyboard. I did remove the updated drivers and without it the tablet works fine! I hope this helps Nyls. | Re: How to remove virtual keyboard from Welcome Screen? I have confirmed within Add/Remove Programs (Installed Updates) that I *do not *have the software updates for the Wacom Intuous 4 tablet on my Vista laptop. The annoying virtual keyboard remains stuck on my Welcome Screen. The driver version I currently have installed is 2.9.1.1. The latest available driver from Wacom for this model is: New Driver 6.1.1-3(RC) for USB Tablets on Windows Vista & XP (32 & 64 bit) Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions to make this keyboard disappear? -- Nikkik ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nikkik's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/134063.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/679989.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

| Re: How to remove virtual keyboard from Welcome Screen? I fixed this by disabling Windows feature: "Tablet PC Optional Components." Please note this will disable some other applications such as the Snippet tool in your accessories. -- Nikkik ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nikkik's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/134063.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/679989.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
