Nero Vision 4 Crashing and Rebooting!!

Hi, Everyone.

I have an HP Pavilion ze2000 with 2GB of RAM. I'm trying to burn a DVD. So
far, nothing I have tried has worked. I finally bit the bullet and purchased
Nero Ultra 7, which comes with Nero Vision 4. When I try to burn a DVD,
though, I get a flickering Blue Screen of Death, then a reboot. This is with
every possible option I've tried with the software. I've been
similarly-unsuccessful with the built-in burning software in Vista. (I have
Vista Home Premium.) Can anyone help me?? If this doesn't work, I just paid
big money for a huge *down*grade from XP!

I'm a long time Nero user, but lately I've had it with them. Some of the
packages included with Nero 7 aren't hardware DEP compliant so they immediate
crash when launched (and no, I don't excempt programs from HW DEP, it's a
security feature), their tech support is horribly slow and their first
response to anything is 'reinstall' and they don't address your
question/problem. It's also horribly bloated. So I'm now shopping for an
alternative package that works under Vista x64.

Make sure you download the latest version from their web site, 7.7.5.1, I
think. I've never had it crash my whole computer, though.

RE: Nero Vision 4 Crashing and Rebooting!!

Actually, I did install the latest one. (At least, the latest one on their
site.) If this truly is a Nero problem, then that's pathetic, but I'm having
a similar problem in DVD Maker. The whole reason I paid for Nero was that
DVD Maker was refusing to burn my DVDs correctly.

Sadly, I don't think this is merely a Nero issue. Something like this
should be dead simple. I even saved a version of the project in the MSMM (or
whatever it's called) format, and the DVD Maker software still can't just
burn the darn thing.

Very disappointing, all in all. I didn't have nearly as many burning
problems in XP.

I am using both Nero 7.7.5.1 and DVD Maker, both with no issues. You may
want to check your computer system. They run fine on Home Premium and
Ultimate on my computers.
