remote assistance

I sent an invitation to a windows xp pc. and it did not work. I turned off
the firewall. And so did the xp pc. Any one have any suggertions.

I'm not an expert but I think the remote assistant request in Windows
[Windows live | Msn] Messenger doesn't work under NAT environment. It
said something like "You need to upgrade to the most recent version of
Windows Live messenger to accept the request" even though it was the
latest version. There were 3rd party remote desktop solutions that
worked under this environment.

Remote assistance can be given by a user of Vista to a user of XP. It
cannot be given by an XP user to a Vista user.
