| Using Outlook contacts in Windows Mail I have about 2,700 contacts stored in Microsoft Outlook 2007. When I write mail in Windows Mail, I would like to be able to use these contacts. Can this be done? If so, how? |

| Re: Using Outlook contacts in Windows Mail Sure, but every time I update my Outlook file, I have to reimport them into Windows Mail. with XP, there was a well-known registry hack to use OL2003 contacts in Outlook Express. Is there such a thing for Vista? | Re: Using Outlook contacts in Windows Mail No, because WinMail now uses Windows Contacts and not the wab file anymore. You can ask in an Outlook forum. Maybe someone there knows how to do it. steve "David Wess" <dwess@wess.com> wrote in message news:2AF1270D-314A-4435-8A02-9319D0270C45@microsoft.com...[color=blue] > Sure, but every time I update my Outlook file, I have to reimport them > into Windows Mail. with XP, there was a well-known registry hack to use > OL2003 contacts in Outlook Express. | Re: Using Outlook contacts in Windows Mail I have exactly the same issue. Windows Mail does not support hotmail. Windows Mail cannot utilize my Outlook Contacts. On my XP/Office 2000 machine I could do both. I just bought a brand new Dell with Vista Business. I'm going to look into returning it and getting a machine with XP Pro. I thought I was supposed to be able to do more, not less, with Vista/Office 2007! | Re: Using Outlook contacts in Windows Mail If you were using Outlook (not Outlook Express) on your old computer, just install it on your new Vista computer. If you got Office 2007 on your new computer, then use it! | Re: Using Outlook contacts in Windows Mail Dave, I was using BOTH Outlook and Outlook Express. They shared the same Outlook contacts. When I updated my Contacts in Outlook they were updated for Outlook Express as well. And I can synch my Outlook with my Treo and all of Outlook, Outlook Express and the Treo have the same up-to-date contact list. From what I can see, and what I've read here, Outlook and Outlook Express can no longer share the same Contacts. This is a major issue for me, and the notion of having to repeatedly convert and import Contacts from Outlook to Microsoft Mail is completely unappealing.
