An internal drive or external?
If internal what is shown in Disk Management
If external tried on another PC?

Re: Can't access slave drive

See Help Disk Management or Computer management
Can be accessed via Contol Panel
Broadly speaking Disk Management will list your drives / partitions and give
an indication if there is a problem

D is probably a recovery Partition, particularly if its only a small size;
you have created your Recovery cd/dvd's havent you, if they were not
supplied?
