I need help with charmap.exe

Hi,

I'm trying to include some user-defined private characters in Windows.

While this does work perfectly on Windows XP and Vista Ultimate 32 Bit
using the private character editor (eudcedit.exe) and charmap.exe, it
does not work on a Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit machine. "All fonts
(private characters) isn't there on that machine, I can't select my
characters from the list.

Did anyone that problem,too?

How can I solve this?

Hello,

I found a solution :

I can use ALT + Unicode to display my own characters, that means
ALT + 5 7 3 4 4 for the first character (private characters start at
$E000 which is 57344 as a decimal).

I will also check Babel Map, because I suppose charmap.exe is
responsible for the problems.

However, private characters are not the same as their counterparts
in the font, even if copied 1:1. They are smaller, the resolution
isn't as
good and the "distance" between characters is different.

Is it possible to solve this problem or do I need a "real" font-editor
to
make characters that look like those in the professional fonts?
