Windows Vista: weired: need to reboot OS to print Hello, I used to have a Lexmark X5470 All-In-One which included an inkjet printer on Windows XP and when I upgraded to a Windows Vista Home Premium laptop I simply downloaded the driver for it from the Lexmark site. However I would have a problem, namely that more than half of the time I would send the job but it would not print until I would reboot Windows Vista and sometimes not even that would work. So I upgraded my printer to an HP LaserJet P2055dn which I also hooked up via USB to the latptop hoping that the problem would go away. I am very satisfied with the printer but for some reason once in a while when I print I then have to reboot to get the printer to print the pages just as used to happen with my lexmark printer. So what I am wondering is whether perhaps the problem is with windows vista and whether it is due to a USB driver bug or a bug with the printing code. Has anyone else experienced this problem with printing under Windows Vista and is there a solution so that this problem does not keep repeating itself? Thanks, John Goche |
Re: Windows Vista: weired: need to reboot OS to print I've had the same problem for the last couple weeks. Just started happening after about a year of use. I reinstalled OS to see if that corrected the problem but it did not. My network printers all work fine but my USB connected printers don't. Documents print when computer is rebooted. Hope someone can shed some light on this. |
