What happens to Vista Mail when Windows 7 installed

I am planning to replace my Vista OS with Windows 7 Home Premium. I know
that I have to download/install Windows Live Mail AFTER the Win7
installation. What happens to my Vista Mail folders, inbox, etc., including
customized folders??? Can I recover them in Windows Live Mail???

I upgraded from Vista and all my programs and files transferred without any
problems. If you go the upgrade route, you should make a backup first, just
in case.

An additional idea is to export all the mail data to a safe place before
installing 7, and then import that stuff if it doesn't make it across the
divide.
