Can't upgrade Vista Ultimate so......

I have Vista Ultimate on my machine which I can't upgrade using windows 7
Home Premium (only Win 7 Ultimate allows this to happen). I am not in the
position to give up working for a day or two to do a clean install of Win 7
and all the programs etc. In the circumstances, i have decided to put a new
hard disk in my computer and install Win 7 on there (making the computer a
dual boot machine). I can then install various programs and move the data
over a period of time and eventually abandon using the Vista installation.
Before I do this, are there any drawbacks to this approach?

JP

No. That's what I did (XP on the other drive).

'Don't see any off-hand. You see your situation better though.
