| Problem with Vista StartRep.exe I want to run the above program and I get a message that says in effect "your computer is running so you don't need to run this program" and something to the effect about "properly running". (Note: I can't copy/paste the exact message.) There appears to be no way of overriding this message and continuing to run. 1. Is there a way to run it? 2. In order to start my computer I have to use my Acronis CD and hit F12; then it verrrry slowly starts, which doesn't seem to be a "no problemo" in my book. And if the computer _isn't_ running, how do you run any program? This reads like clownwork to me. 3. In trying to solve this problem and another, MS has suggested three different registry cleaners, including RegCure; none of the three are free, and I don't know if any will work with Win7. Although I've not had any trouble with any registry cleaners in the last four or five years (different story before then), I'm inclined to use CCleaner (free) which has done a good job on everything else I've used it for. Any opinions? Allen |
