Another happy Ubuntu user - There are many more

Some poor sap decided to install that INFERIOR Ubuntu.

On Karmic and Upgrading to Final

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've noticed a lot of people asking questions about whether installing
Karmic Beta or RC will still allow upgrading to final later in the week. In
response, I have noticed a few sarcastic people spouting the usual stupid
response: use the search.

I have two things to say to those people:
1. The search facility in Ubuntu Forums is perhaps the most useless search
implementation I have seen. It is easier to use Google search externally to
recover threads from this site. Expecting new users to come here and find
what they are looking for on such a huge site and with such a pathetic
search function is really unfair.

2. The moderators for Ubuntu Forums should take some initiative and actually
make an informative sticky that shows across all sections. Better still, how
about a special Karmic section? Sure, the info is scattered across the net
but THIS is where people come for information. But it is dying under its own
weight.

This is a fantastic resource and it is certainly the first place I come when
I look for help. At the same time it is getting very big and finding
information here is getting hard...that is one reason why the same questions
get asked again and again. So before people start getting snarky at
questions being asked again and again, try being silent instead - just offer
suggestions if you actually have something helpful to say. And moderators,
take some initiative - you know Karmic is coming out so surely you can
prepare for it with some easier to find Q&As.

Beggars can't be choosy.
Re-format should be your first search.
Or, Install Windows.
Linux sucks for a reason ... it was made my momma's boys in little garage
caves.
