| Printers Icon on Desktop Hi, I'm running Vista on my laptop and have two accounts set up, one for me and the other for my wife. Somehow my wife's Desktop has an icon for the "Printers" applet where one adds a new printer or removes a printer. This icon is an option for the Start Menu and is normally contained in Control Panel. I cannot delete or remove the Printers icon from the desktop. It doesn't really hurt anything but I don't want it there. Fred |

| Re: Printers Icon on Desktop Hi, Look for the answer by Brink at http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/224644-help-needed-delete-desktop-icon.html Note that you want delete the Printers namespace [registry] key- not the bluetooth key. Registry editing can cause serious problems if done incorrectly. Backup the registry or create a Restore Point before making the edit. 322756- How to back up and restore the registry in Windows XP and Vista: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756 Post back if additional details would help. | Re: Printers Icon on Desktop Don, Thanks for the link. Ironically, I also had a "Bluetooth" icon on MY desktop and I used Brink's tip to delete that. That darn thing was driving me nuts. Back to my original question, however, the "Printers" icon on my wife's desktop does NOT show in the "namespace" list (the bluetooth did but not the Printers icon). So, I still need help on this. Thanks, Fred Don Varnau wrote: > Hi, > Look for the answer by Brink at > http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/224644-help-needed-delete-desktop-icon.html > Note that you want delete the Printers namespace [registry] key- not the > bluetooth key. > > Registry editing can cause serious problems if done incorrectly.
