You must be new at buying PCs.

First, buy a commodity HP, Acer or whatever from best Buy. With Vista
as they are on sale. Then subscribe to the Win 7 update.

When Win 7 comes out with a SP1 to fix it's bugs, then consider a reload
of the OS, but that time the Vista registry will be bloated and be
pigging down. When you upgrade, choose a clean install and all that OEM
vendor crap will disapper, which is good. Who needs 100 try/buy items?

Then in say a year your up to Win 7 and didn't get double dipped to run
around with too many MS nuances in new OSes. Would you buy the first
car off the line? Well, I wouldn't either. Just bought a new one and
have Win 7 on the way. Saved some $400 as the same model in Win 7 is
$400 more.

Go figure.
