So no progress at all since the early 80's huh?

Re: Today's the day

Windows 7 is the exception that proves the rule. I won't say there will not
be any issues with it - with just about all computing there are issues that
pop up from time to time - but the beta and then RC stages showed Windows 7
to be an exceptionally ironed out package and very ready for prime time.

The retail bits (RTM version which is the same as what is on the store
shelves today) have been out for a number of weeks now, and the reports are
that it is a very stable release.

lol And anecdotally, we've been running it here with great success.

Unless you realize it's just SP3 for Vista... in which case, they
might have it right at this point.

Me, I'll wait six months anyway.

Re: Today's the day

BestBuy certainly does. lol Read the thread please before putting your foot
in your mouth. I've mentioned both US and Canadian pricing. BestBuy ships
both to the US and Canada. There's a BestBuy store not far from me near my
neighbourhood. And a Staples. And a Futureshop.

I just thought, that's 50 bucks more than Ubuntu, which is free, and still
they have trouble shifting it.

Re: Today's the day

P.S.

BestBuy does ship to Canada - they also have stores in Canada. I don't see
the Family Pack listed at BestBuy yet - it probably will be soon enough. But
if one must have the Windows 7 Family Pack today from a Canadian big box
store then there's Staples which is selling it:

$199.95 Cdn. for the Windows 7 Family Pack

Funny: Even at 0 cents they still can't give it away, well except to the odd
estranged person.

Fact: Ubuntu is worthless whereas Windows can command a price.

Re: Today's the day

The servers bungled my reply. This is a re-do.

BestBuy operates in Canada, both online and with a physical presence (i.e.
retail outlets).

I have mentioned both Canadian and American prices. Right now the Family
Pack can be had at Staples for 199.95 Cdn. for those who want to go out and
get it today in Canada.

Yeah - I need a little comic relief from time to time - this certainly

Better still don't let anyone use that crappy Ubuntu. Ubuntu won't run any
of your programs. Ubuntu is worthless.

Ubuntu is rejected by 99.9999% of the people who try it. Just FYI.
