| Connecting to a remote printer I was trying to connect to a printer that is shared on a computer that has Vista to another computer that also has Vista. I am using a wireless connection within my home. I have had no problems with connecting the printer to computers that have XP but I had a problem with the Vista machine. I tried adding the printer using the full name with the Add Network Printer tool and connecting using the Map Network Drive tool. I could not establish a connection as each attempt returned a remote server could not be found. The file sharing center was turned on. The only way I was able to do it was to go to Run then \\computer name\ and then navigate to the shared printer. My question is how do I do this in Vista? The Computer with the shared printer is on a Workgroup but the other was not. In fact when I tried to view the computers on the network the Workgroup could not be seen. I can see everything on the XP machines. Thanks Jim |
