System Restore Problem... Again

I'm using Vista Basic x32 sp2
My System Restore dialog will be missing the area at
and below the Recommended restore selection. The command buttons
are ok.
I haven't installed any new software since the last time I checked to see if
it was ok
I formatted my hd a couple weeks ago and although I haven't checked it the
past week
(and I haven't installed any software) it had the missing area today.
I haven't made any changes to the allocated space that system restore uses.

I have 110 gb free space on a 150 gb hd.
Shadow Storage reports:
Used... = 19.954 gb
Allocated... 19.767
Max....22.556 gb

This problem occurred last month before I formatted my hd.
This is driving me nuts!
When system restore finally opens, about 1 minute after I click on it in the
start menu,
it doesn't seem to have many restore points as usual. And I'm not
exaggerating when I say 1
minute, I timed it.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Is it normal??
If it's not normal is it fixed in Windows 7??

Re: System Restore Problem... Again

Perhaps you should explain why you are reformatting and reinstalling so
often?

JamesJ,

Microsoft does have an official Windows Vista Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/d5r9v3. It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to also check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.
