Are you saying you don't have a > recovery partition?[/color] That is not what's on the recovery partition. The recovery partition is provided by the manufacturer. It contains software and information that can be used for two things: 1. Make a bootable copy of itself on optical disks. 2. Restore the computer to the state it was in when it left the factory. The copy on optical disks will also do item 2. Most important, you should NOT write anything - ever - to the recovery partition, unless you have made the optical disk copy mentioned in step 1 - but not even then, IMO. -- Gene E.
