Right click on any blank spot on your desktop, Click on personalize,
then choose change desktop icons, find the one you had or a new one.

Aha! you weren't describing your desktop folders. All you need to do
is to right click on the pictures folder, click on properties, click
on customize, then click on pictures and videos.
