| Problem with Vista Windows Update /Failed driver install Hi, I wonder if anyone can help on this one. I am running Vista Ultimate with among other hardware, a Logitech Quickcam Pro3000 webcam. It is not natively supported (not a problem at the mo, as manufacturers will get their drivers out eventually), however, Windows Update reports a driver available for it yet it fails to install from MS with an error code of 700082. I have looked up the error and tried the solution on the support pages (ie: stop update service, delete files in windows\softwaredistribution folder and restart update service) but still no joy. Is there a way around this such as download the file directly for local manual installation or is there another solution? Thanks in advance |

BTW have the Police really moved onto Vista? |

| Re: Problem with Vista Windows Update /Failed driver install Had the same trouble with a Quickcam Communicate STX. It seems the driver installs properly but the software will not run without errors in Vista. Have tried installs from both Windows update and Logitech. You can uninstall the Quickcam software leaving the driver intact. The Quickcam now works within supporting applications (ie. Messenger Live) but cannot be used with the Logitech software.
