Windows Mail - Don't want "Local Folders" to open Is there a way to prevent "Local Folders" from automatically expanding when I open Windows mail? I use Windows Mail only for newsgroups. In OE I think I used to uncheck the box that said "expand folders with new mail" (or similar). That doesn't work in WM. Anybody? Thanks, -Frank

Re: Windows Mail - Don't want "Local Folders" to open I have a similar issue, i.e. I wish to use Windows Mail solely for newsgroups whereas I will use Outlook for mail. Presently there is one of my several mail accounts displayed in Mail that opens automatically whenever I open WM. My concern is if this be acount be deleted from WM, will it also be deleted from Outlook? NSA

Re: Windows Mail - Don't want "Local Folders" to open No to the question. Outlook and WinMail keep a separate tally of accounts, so you can remove the account in WinMail without affecting the account in Outlook. steve "NSA" <nospam@roadrunner.com> wrote in message news:173A7A9E-E283-4C38-B807-0D2D211775E0@microsoft.com... >I have a similar issue, i.e. I wish to use Windows Mail solely for >newsgroups whereas I will use Outlook for mail. Anybody? I only use WM for newsgroups as well. The best I can find it to put /outnews on the Windows Mail shortcut. This changes the name of the program to Microsoft Outlook Newsreader and gets rid of the email Inbox and ghosts out email related menu items. ss.

Re: Windows Mail - Don't want "Local Folders" to open I could not get the /outnews extension to take. Deleting the email account from Mail (but not from Outlook) did solve my problem of not having an email account open when I open WM. NSA
