| any good news ? One of these days Dell is going to send me the Vista disc and I'm looking forward... I realize when things go well, usually not many comments are made and when things go bad... lots of comments. So are there nice simple success stories to report on loading vista over xp.. |

| Re: any good news ? I have installed Beta 2, RC1, RC2, and OEM on my current hardware. In every case, the installation was fast and easy and went as expected. I have no hardware compatibility issues. All of the software that I use was ready to use in Vista by the launch date though one update is still beta, it does work. | RE: any good news ? Yeah I haven't got my disk despite the fact I sent it out in November. Welcome to the wonderful world of rebates, don't you just love it? THIS is the reason why I generally refuse to buy sale items by rebate, its a hassle to get what you're owed. I will say this though, the hold up is with Microsoft. Dell's customer support is crap but I don't think Microsoft sent out the OEM disks on time and in enough of a supply. I'm having the same problem with Gateway, which says they'll get the disks by the end of next week, which means I should get Vista the following week. | Re: any good news ? Depends on your software/hardware... no one can guarantee that it's, meaning Vista and your existing SW/HW, going to work 100% Lang "dwolf" <jojonospam********.com> wrote in message news:uqbk8ozRHHA.4260@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > One of these days Dell is going to send me the Vista disc and I'm looking > forward... > I realize when things go well, usually not many comments are made and when > things go bad... lots of comments. > So are there nice simple success stories to report on loading vista over > xp.. > > |
