| Vista Upgrade: How to get rid of black dual-boot screen at startup The title says it all! I just upgraded from WinXP to Vista Premium UPGRADE. I thought I told the software to do a fresh install rather than saving any former settings. Perhaps I made the wrong selection. In any event, I'm tired of having to boot up the computer and select VISTA or FORMER OPERATING SYSTEM. Any way I can configure my computer to bypass that choice screen and go directly to Vista? Would appreciate the assistance! |

| Re: Vista Upgrade: How to get rid of black dual-boot screen at startup Hi, Click start, type MSCONFIG and hit <enter>. Click 'continue' when prompted. Go to the boot tab, click on the listing for the former operating system and then delete. Confirm and apply/ok. Once it is the only OS option, the system should no longer pause on the boot selection menu. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "NJRonbo" <NJRonbo@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7790F51D-775D-43C0-9C1B-1BAF26AC6AF6@microsoft.com... > The title says it all! > > I just upgraded from WinXP to Vista Premium UPGRADE. > > I thought I told the software to do a fresh install rather than saving > any former settings. > > Perhaps I made the wrong selection. > > In any event, I'm tired of having to boot up the computer and > select VISTA or FORMER OPERATING SYSTEM. > > Any way I can configure my computer to bypass that choice > screen and go directly to Vista? > > Would appreciate the assistance! |
