Aero missing on vista 64 (It was there how do I find out what turned it off?)

I am running Vista 64 bit with the top of the line everything. The system
rate 5.9 on the scale.
I tried all the usual suspects.. Is there a way to find out what has made it
unavailable?
It is unavailble for all users .
( I have tried the display settings color settings performance settings and
even installed the latest video drivers)

Are there specific software packages that disable it?
I have a boat load installed as this is my graphics workstation?
I am fairly savy with computers but this has me stumped.

thanks for any constructive assistance

If the machine gets flagged up as "non-genuine" for whatever reason, then
that can cause Aero to get turned off.

Otherwise look for events in Event Viewer relating to the 'Desktop Window
Manager Session Manager' service (Uxsms). If it gets turned off, then the
reason sometimes appears in there.
