Re: Remote connection

Thanks Bill so much for your reply. I use Google extensively. However usually
when I get advice from this community, I will get a website that is so very
good and accurately gives me easy to follow, just what I need, information.
At times, (such as with this request,) I search Google for a really long time
and don't hit on a site that really is clear and simple. I was hoping for
that type of advice again.

If you don't have any luck with Vista's remote connection then have a look at Team Viewer:

Re: Remote connection

Thank you Dave. That is a wonderful tool. I have a few more things to learn
before I can use Team Viewer. I am A+ qualified - no networking
qualifications, so I have always avoided the use of IP addresses. I only do
Peer to Peer networking. It seems that to be able to do Remote Access I will
need to be making use of IP addresses. So I need to understand that and be
able to do that first. I am delighted with the Team Viewer and have saved the
application and am sure that I will use it. Many thanks.

And what was wrong with the first hit in the list I sent the URL to?

"How to complete a Windows Vista Remote Desktop connection"

It even has step-by-step screen shots.

Re: Remote connection

Hi Bill, Oops - I did not look carefully enough at the website. So thanks so
much for coming back to me again! I looked down the website instead of
Previous and Next Image which is at the top. It is a fabulous link, and it
will be hugely helply as I do want to say in Windows. A million thanks again
for coming back to me.

Well now, if everyone tried Google first, this forum would have 90%
fewer posts. Don't believe me, Google it.

Re: Remote connection

You might also look at Windows Live Mesh. A useful tool.
