| Re: create a recovery partition Two possible solutions: 1st Solution: Contact Dell and purchase the CD/DVD's for your model if they support it. 2nd Solution; Use a program similar to what Norton Ghost could do that will create image file that can be run to restore a partition. Create a bootable partition (DOS) that will execute the executable image file. -- Randem Systems Your Installation Specialist The Top Inno Setup Script Generator http://www.randem.com/innoscript.html Find Out What Your VB Program is Really Doing http://www.randem.com/rstools.html "eyoniel" <eyoniel.3w9usg@no-mx.forums.vistaheads.com> wrote in message news:eyoniel.3w9usg@no-mx.forums.vistaheads.com... > > hi! > > i have a problem > > i have a dell laptop > > dell inspiron b120 > 1.40GHz > 2GB > 100HDD > and i won't to create a recovery partition > and anyone can help me with that > > > -- > eyoniel > Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com > |

The recovery partition is already there, during startup press Ctrl + F11. Be sure and backup all your data before proceeding, this will format your drive and reinstall the Operating System back to factory specs. -- All the best, SG Is your computer system ready for Vista? | Re: create a recovery partition Best to create a partition and put an image there as well as from time to time you may want to keep some files etc safe from all except a drive failure. I strongly recommend against it. It leaves you susceptible to simultaneous loss of the original and backup to many of the most common dangers: hard drive crashes, severe power glitches, nearby lightning strikes, virus attacks, even theft of the computer. In my view, secure backup needs to be on removable media, and not kept in the computer. For really secure backup (needed, for example, if the life of your business depends on your data) you should have multiple generations of backup, and at least one of those generations should be stored off-site. I recommend buying an external USB drive and using that for backup. Drives are very inexpensive these days.
