Installation of Microsoft Content Management Server SP1a fails

This may not be the approrpriate place to ask this, but thought I'd take a
chance.
If this really needs to go elsewhere, please let me know.

I'm attempting to install Site Manager for Microsoft Content Management
Server SP1a on Vista Business RTM.

All of the dependencies appear to install properly.
- v1.1 .NET framework
- v1.1 .NET SP1
- J# Framework v1.1

- MV Java VM v5.0 was required in order to install Site Manager from the
basc MSCMS 2002 package.
- CMS 2002 base package; custom install selecting only the Site Manaager

During the first attempt at installing SP1a for MSCMS, I'm told to install;
- J# .NET v2.0 Redistributable; which appears to install properly.

Finally, when I retry installaing SP1a for CMS 2002 and I get an error I've
never seen before, nor can I found anything on MS sites or the web which
appears to be relevant to the SP1a installation failure and Vista specific...
in other words, the instsllation works on XP, but not on Vista.

The error is a dialogue box simply titled Microsoft Windows
The content of the diaglogue box reads:

"Microsoft Setup Wrapper has stopped working."
...followed by the generic error message.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solutions is available."
