| Re: Hijacked Hi: Grisoft AVG and Avast! have paid versions, but offer their 'lite' versions for no-charge download. They use the same virus signatures usually. I've read reports that they are as effective as Norton. I'm not knocking Norton, if it works for you - great, but these others also work well. | Re: Hijacked Associate: People purchased a product/service because they wished to associate with the image delivered by the spokesperson (and the majority of other users). Disassociate: People refused to purchase a particular product/service because they didn't want to be associated with the image delivered by the spokesperson (and the majority of other users). Negative campaign: Almost always initiated by a person/company feeling insecure about their position in the market, and almost always from a 2nd-, or even lower, tier competitor targeting to the leader, and NOT vice versa. Most well-trained decision makers can tell this very well. Foolish: Anyone insults a potential/existing customer just to show how good this person is (or how stupid the customer is by purchasing a different/wrong product) at the cost of the customer to disassociate with the image represented by the person, and thus, may not continue to use the product or even consider it. Many people purchased a product not for technical features but for the above reason. So, You ask, why people don't want to use Linux? I ask, why you (as a messenger, a.k.a. unofficial spokesperson) keep doing this even you have been advised many times? I know you will not change, and I just wish other Linux advocates don't repeat the same mistake, again and again and again. | Re: Hijacked Just remember this, you get what you deserve. People including regulatory agencies can give just so many opportunities to ensure a fair playground, but no one other than the product provider itself can assure if there will be any difference. At some point, those opportunities will be given to more competent ones, and there will be no mercy for incompetent ones. No one can force anyone to understand their customers, and fortunately, only those who are willing to so will succeed. So, I have done my part of being a good citizen :) and you have your right to determine how to help Linux. Good luck. PS: I am speaking to you as you are a member of the Linux community. If that is included by default, the assumption would be it is the best one. I am working on various configs to see if it is something in K3B, KDE, SELinux, etc. Somebody has to work on this stuff. |
