First, learn how to compose a real sentence with real punctuation, instead
of one strung out paragraph. Second, you said you just spent hours
reinstalling your operating system, then later you said you don't know how to
get your operating system back because you dont have the CD. So, how did you
acomplish the former when you don't have the latter? From a recovery
partition? If that's the case, just do a recovery like you did before. This
time, install the drivers first, then install SP1 and SP2 BEFORE you put on
any of your applications.

Actually dude - your post was unreadable. The onus is on *you* to make
yourself understood to the people who are *volunteering* their time to help
you. I'm not saying this to hurt your feelings. You're the one who wants
help and I'm just telling you how to get it. If you can't be bothered to
communicate clearly, then take the machine to a competent local computer
tech and pay for the help.

If you are trying to do a clean install of Windows, either follow the
directions at this link OR if you have an OEM machine (HP, eMachines, etc.)
with a recovery image on a special partition refer to your computer manual
or the computer mftr.'s tech support for how to restore your computer to
factory condition.

For a guy needing help you are quite feisty.
You have to be precise when expecting help, not 'big-breasted'.

Dude

Your post had to be copied and pasted into WordPad, at which point I read it
over and again until I had the various topics in paragraphs of their own.

There is no attachment, so can't see what you disabled, but you may have
turned memory off completely.

End result without memory = no computer..

Resolution = return to manufacturer and then pay gracefully when told that
it is fixed..

Mike, can you really "turn memory off completely" from within the BIOS?
Won't removing the battery from a laptop revert the BIOS to default settings
like removing the CMOS battery from a desktop restores default settings?

Kamy, I may be replying too late, and you may already be gone. If
you're gone, so be it. It's your fault, not ours, as Malke clearly and
accurately described above.

So if you're gone because you think it's our fault, it's OK with me.
Goodbye!

Mark

I haven't ever tried to do it, so don't really know, but the computer is
doing nothing at all as would happen if all memory was physically removed.

Removing the main battery doesn't reset the CMOS. The laptop will have a
rechargeable battery inside which will maintain the BIOS possibly for any
period up to 6 months..
