Re: €20 Euro reward if anybody can fix this.

Well, hello!
First of all, This is my first post here. I have been coming here for
quite a while, and I finally got around to registering.

In any case, lets get back to the problem at hand.
@Irishman: The problem description is a bit detail lacking, so I will
make some assumptions.
First, the problem was NOT only with AVG, but every application used.
The MSI packages and EXEcutables (Yes, that was purposefully
capitalized) are ALL not starting/freezing directly after launch.
Second, you still can open the Task Manager.
If the files are not launching correctly, try this:

1)- Get the file name, and the path, select and copy it. Ex-
C:\users\***\Desktop\AVGINSTALL.MSI, etc.

2)- Log in as an administrator or user w/ admin rights.

3)- Open the Task Manager- CTRL-ALT-DEL, Taskbar right-click, whatever
works.

4)- Make SURE the Task Manager is running with Administrator
Privileges. If not, Right-click on System under the Processes Tab, and
click Perform Administrative Tasks.

5)- Select Explorer.exe and hit Delete. (THIS ONLY ENDS THE PROCESS:
YOU DID NOT DELETE THE OS!!)

5x)- Provide confirmation, if needed.

6)- DO NOT EXIT THE TASK MANAGER. Click File, then Run. Paste THE
ENTIRE PATH, INCLUDING THE FILE NAME AND EXTENSION, and hit ENTER.

7)- Report back if it installs/fails, etc.

Good Luck!

PS- If this works, keep the 20 Euro. My payment for stuff like this is
just the satisfaction of helping someone.

PSS- AVG Is an OK AV. Not great, but good for a shareware/freeware AV.
Plus, it *-_is_-* free. What do ya want from an AV that is free? You
don't get something from nothing.

Re: €20 Euro reward if anybody can fix this.

the OP cannot install any anti malware, prob because he is already
infected.

some malwares do this.

I saw a similar machine recently. couldn't access online scans either
due to dns hijack.

after wasting several hours, decided it was quicker to back up data
and format/re-install
