What can I do about this?[/color] One of the nice features of WSR (Windows Speech Recognition in Vista and Windows 7) is its ability to navigate a document almost seamlessly. For example, if I say, "go to features," the cursor moves in front of the word features in the first paragraph. If "features" is used more than once you will see a number or OK by each one so you can select the one you wish. I mention the above so you can understand WSR is looking for the command to move through the "go" command. It seems as if your problem is WSR interpreting what you are saying as the command. Here are some suggestions and things to try: 1. Run the Set up my microphone wizard making sure the microphone is off the corner of your mouth not in front. If the microphone is in front, it may be interpreting breath inhales or exhales as words/commands. 2. If #1 above does not help, make sure you have a good noise canceling microphone so stray sounds are not picked up as words/commands. 3. You could try creating a speech macro for phrases you use repeatedly. The WSRToolkit ($15.99) allows you to easily create Text Macros and Command Macros as well as 5 other useful features. | Re: Speech recognition/dictation question Mark Bender using the alias John Doe wrote the message referenced below using my name and sign off. I do not talk to or treat people in the manner as written below. Mr. Bender was arrested several time for assault and was sued into oblivion. He lives in a rented room in an impoverished neighborhood of San Antonio, TX. I had him tracked down and investigated because of his vitriol and antics. My intention was to take legal action to force him to stop.
