If the advice about font size settings doesn't work, it may be a
screen resolution issue causing the text to display larger while the
message box remains the same size, i.e., too small. You would expect
the message window to resize with the resolution change but I've
occasionally had that problem. I can't remember which way it goes. I
think you'll want a higher resolution, but try higher and lower
resolution settings and see what happens.

At www.digitallis.co.uk there is a Resize Enable utility for
downloading. It only works sporadically on my Vista message windows
but it may help.

BTW, before you do anything, keep in mind that your desktop icons can
be scrambled by a resolution change - even opening in Safe mode with
its ugly primitive graphics will do that. Go to http://www.midiox.com
and download Desktop Icon Restore. It's a simple, elegant app that
works in Vista 32 and 64 as well as XP. (There's a separate installer
for Vista 64). Once installed, and before you make any resolution
changes, right-click a blank area on the desktop and select the Save
Desktop option. To restore the old order after a scrambling (or if
you mistakenly deleted an icon) click on Restore Desktop. It doesn't
get any simpler or easier than that! You can even save separate
schemes for different resolutions or users. Be sure to read the
accompanying .rtf file and do a new save whenever you add or rearrange
desktop icons.
